Paris Hilton planning humanitarian trip to Rwanda

Paris Hilton has vowed to keep her post-prison promise of devoting time to worthy causes and will demonstrate her commitment with a trip to Rwanda later this year.

The celebrity socialite told the on Wednesday that she is aiming to visit the war-torn central African nation in November after completing work on her latest film.

"I'll be going in November, after I get back from filming my movie," Hilton said. "There's so much need in that area, and I feel like if I go, it will bring more attention to what people can do to help."

It was not clear which organization was helping arrange Hilton's trip, but the hotel heiress said she is planning to do more humanitarian work in future.

"I want to visit more countries where poverty and children's issues are a big concern," the 26-year-old socialite said. "I know there's a lot of good I can do just by getting involved and bringing attention to these issues."

Hilton was in June jailed for violating probation over an alcohol-related reckless driving conviction. She emerged from prison declaring that incarceration had changed her and that she planned to "grow up."

Lawyers Meet Privately in Britney Spears Custody Dispute

Attorneys for Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were back in court Monday in an ongoing custody dispute involving the pair's children.

Federline's lawyer, Mark V. Kaplan, said the unscheduled court session was called to "refine certain areas" of a judge's previous order in the case. He would not elaborate.

Spears' attorney, Sorrell Trope, confirmed in a telephone interview that the hearing involved issues related to the custody case. He declined to comment further.

The court hearing came days after city prosecutors charged Spears with misdemeanor counts of hit-and-run and driving without a valid license, claiming she smashed her car into another in a parking lot in August.

Kaplan said he does not expect the filing of the misdemeanor charges last week to have any impact on the upcoming hearing dates on Federline's request to increase his custody time with the former couple's two young sons. They divide time with the children equally.

The first hearing date is Nov. 26, but the second date has been delayed from Dec. 18 to early January, Kaplan said.

Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon, who held Monday's in-chambers session with the lawyers, is presiding over the custody dispute. He issued orders last week directing Spears to undergo random testing twice a week after finding she is involved in "habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol."

If convicted on the driving changes, Spears could face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine for each count. Authorities said the accident occurred Aug. 6, when she was filmed by paparazzi steering her car into another vehicle as she tried to turn into a spot in a parking lot. Spears was scheduled to be arraigned in that case Oct. 10, but she is not required to appear.

Spears, 25, and ex-husband Federline, 29, are the parents of Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1.

Lindsay Lohan Not Ready to Leave Rehab

Lindsay Lohan's rehab stint in Utah will not be coming to an end any time soon, according to the actress' mother.

Dina Lohan insists her troubled daughter isn't ready to face the world again after spending the past seven weeks at the Cirque Lodge facility in an attempt to curb her wild ways.

Recent reports suggested Lohan was planning to leave the Utah rehab facility this weekend, but Dina insists that's not the case.

In a curt e-mail message to Billy Bush, the anchor of TV news show Access Hollywood, Dina writes: "Not true, staying in Utah."

Lindsay checked into the Cirque Lodge in early August, marking her third stint in rehab this year after previous visits to the Wonderland and Promises facilities in Los Angeles.

Who Is Paris Hilton's New Boy Toy?

Who’s the new man that Paris Hilton’s been pictured with over the past week?

According to the New York Post, his name is Alex Vaggo, and he’s a 22-year-old Swedish tourist who just happened to be in the right place at the right time!

The Post’s source says that Paris met the hot foreigner on the street near the USA Hostel in Hollywood.

The source tells the Post, “The hostel is $27 a night and they shove in six people to a room. But in the morning there are all the pancakes you can eat. Our friend introduced him to Paris and she immediately took a liking to him. He’s very hot. He’s living much better now.”

Paris’ rep tells the Post, “They are just friends.”

The Post also writes that the heiress is reportedly introducing Vaggo around to Ford Model scouts this week.

For a while in late summer, Paris had been seen out with ex-flame Stavros Niarchos, although the two haven’t been photographed together recently. Vaggo is not the first new man that she’s been linked to since her release from jail. In July, she was seen cuddling with 21-year-old Australian clothing entrepreneur Tyler Atkins in Malibu.

Last night, Paris showed up at an amfAR benefit in New York.

Britney Spears uses asthma inhaler to lose weight

Britney Spears is reportedly using an asthma inhaler in a bid to lose weight.

The troubled singer, who does not suffer from the respiratory illness, is allegedly puffing on the medical aid to suppress her appetite.

A source told Us Weekly magazine, "Britney doesn’t have asthma. She’s using the chemical epinephrine, found in asthma medications, as an appetite suppressant.”

Friends are extremely concerned about her reported use of the inhalers as Australian cover girl Krissy Taylor died from using a similar weight loss method.

The 17-year-old model, who had appeared in Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Elle magazines, suffered a fatal heart attack after using an inhaler to control her appetite.

Medics warn side effects include headaches, dizziness, nausea and an irregular heartbeat.

Britney – whose figure was criticized after her performance at the MTV Video Music awards, in which she wore a sparkly bra and hotpants – has told pals she will “do anything” to lose weight.

Meanwhile, Britney’s former bodyguard has claimed the 25-year-old star made him hold a curtain around her table as she took drugs in a nightclub.

Tony Barretto – who was fired by the ‘Toxic’ singer in May – claims he saw the mother-of-two take illegal substances on at least two occasions.

He said, "One incident happened at her table. And she had me hold a curtain to make her area private and at one point it was getting kind of hard to continue to hold the curtain for such a long period of time, so I looked over and to get her approval to let go of the curtain, at which point I noticed what she was doing.”

However, Barretto insists he never saw Britney take drugs in front of her two sons, two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James.

This week, Barretto made sensational claims about Britney’s wild lifestyle. He once feared she had suffered an overdose after finding her “completely out of it” in a hotel room and alleges she took various drugs, including cocaine and cannabis, while he was working for her.
